Community Support Programs

Alma Tierra LP offers community-centered programs designed to uplift, inform, and support families, educators, and community members as they navigate important systems and opportunities. Each program is rooted in the belief that access grows when people are met with clarity, care, and strong advocacy.

Voces de Tierra Community Blog

The Voces de Tierra Community Blog is a space to share stories, insights, resources, and moments of impact from across the Alma Tierra community. Through monthly updates, community highlights, practical tools, and original writing, this space reflects the heart of the work: people coming together to support one another, strengthen access, and create change. Alongside community empowerment and learning, stories from the community, literature reviews, newsletters, and outreach, Voces de Tierra also makes room for local literary voices through open calls for original writing and creative work from community contributors.

Community Systems Navigation Support and Advocacy Program

The Community Systems Navigation Support and Advocacy Program is designed to help individuals and families navigate educational, healthcare, housing, and community systems with greater clarity, confidence, and support. Through a three-tiered model, Alma Tierra LP provides services that range from foundational education and guidance to individualized planning and direct advocacy representation. This work is grounded in the belief that people are best supported when they have access to information, practical tools, and strong partnership along the way.

Tier 1: Education Empowerment

Education Empowerment is the foundational tier of support. It is designed for families, educators, and community members seeking greater understanding of systems, rights, processes, and available pathways for action. This level of service helps build knowledge, strengthen self-advocacy, and create a clearer sense of direction.

Support at this tier may include:

• Workshops

• Informational sessions

• Consultations

• Resource sharing

• Guidance on system processes

All customized education plans are designed to provide practical tools that help individuals and families move forward with greater understanding and confidence.

Tier 2: Strategic Tools and Support

Strategic Tools and Support offers more individualized guidance for those who need targeted planning, problem-solving, and practical assistance in responding to barriers within complex systems. This tier is centered on helping clients organize information, identify next steps, and move through challenges with greater structure and preparation.

These customized supports may include visual supports for use at home, in classrooms, and across other relevant settings that strengthen executive functioning for individuals with disabilities. They may also include transitional support services that help transitional age youth and young adults with disabilities build community access skills as part of educational transition planning aligned with IDEA.

Support at this tier may include:

• Strategy sessions

• Document review

• Planning support

• Resource identification

• Action planning

• Customized supports aligned with each client’s goals and circumstances

Tier 3: Direct Advocacy Representation

Support at this tier may include:

• Advocacy meeting support

• Preparation of materials

• Assistance with written communication

• Organization of records and documentation

• Records review and analysis

• Data analysis

• Evidence-based recommendations to support informed advocacy and decision-making

Camp Creative Discovery

In partnership with ThinkGive®

Ages 5 to 12 | June 15 - July 9, 2026

Camp Creative Discovery at Alma Tierra is a summer enrichment camp centered on confidence, connection, and community. Built around the ThinkGive® curriculum, the camp offers children an intentional, engaging, and enriching experience where they can build confidence, form meaningful connections, and experience community through creative exploration and shared experiences in a welcoming environment.

Each camp session includes:

• A ThinkGive® lesson

• Creative activities such as art, music, theatre, storytelling, and collaborative experiences that expand on the day’s theme

• Select activities led by guest artists and musicians, bringing added inspiration, variety, and creative energy to the camp experience

Camp Creative Discovery offers a summer experience children can enjoy and families can feel good about.
